Peace and Security Policy Director

Qualifications and responsibility.

MINIMUM EDUCATION — PROPOSED

Bachelor’s degree in peace studies, humanitarian policy, law or social sciences, or a documented equivalent combination of training and relevant work.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE — PROPOSED

5+ years of relevant professional, academic, civic or volunteer experience. Equivalent capability may be assessed through documented work.

Workload
Proposed 4–8 hours weekly; agreed individually before appointment.
Appointment
Proposed: 30-day probation followed by a 90-day project, six-month renewable, or twelve-month specialist appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare an agreed work plan with one accountable owner.
  • Deliver the department’s assigned research or operational outputs.
  • Keep source records, decisions and progress updates.
  • Declare conflicts, protect personal data and follow the approved scope.

  • Agreed work plan

  • Monthly progress report and handover notes

Weekly updates; monthly documented review. Renewal depends on delivery, conduct and continuing need. Engagement may end through the agreed review and notice procedure.
